DEPARTMENT DISTANT PROSPECT

The department develop stressed the combination of theory and practice and interdisciplinary technology integration. Our department emphasizes theory and practice technology integration, and cross technology integration. Hope the research result improve domestic architectural industry environment, architectural engineering technology, enhance engineering quality, promote international technical exchange, and enhance the international status of Taiwan’s architectural industry.


OBJECTIVES OF RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT AND THE REQUIREMNET OF STUDENTS COMPETENCE

The department focuses on the development of cross domain. Traditional architecture usually independent of the other areas, communication in the group restrict easily. Therefore, the medium-term objective is to promote teaching and research among the field. Not only integrate teaching and expand students’ horizon, but also can enhance teachers’ cultivation.


Education and teaching objectives

The education goals in addition to maintaining the principle of outstanding qualification of teachers to provide students with adequate knowledge, and senior architect provide practical training. Until the professional teacher to be complete, it will engage relevant areas teacher, such as landscape planning, interior design to give elective for broaden students’ horizons.


INTRODUCTION

The department of architecture was established in 1991.The institute developed from the architecture program since the time of Taiwan institute of Technology. It was formerly known as “Engineering Technology Research institute of Architectural Design Technology course of study group”. In 1996, it was renamed “The graduate of architecture program of engineering technology” and dedicated to strengthen the faculty and resources.


CHARACTERISTIC

In order to provide a modern architectural education which fits Taiwan, our department not only planned a diversified and convertible mechanism, but also integrated the training of practical skills and academic knowledge to make students appreciate the interaction between architecture and social environment, and then trigger their motivations to learn the relevant professionalism.
