Position Title: Full-time tenure faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor or above

Expected Start Date: February 1, 2027, for the second semester of the 2026 academic year. However, if the faculty certificate review process causes a delay, the start date will be changed to August 1, 2027.

Qualifications: Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications:

  • Hold a certificate of Assistant Professor or above issued by the Ministry of Education and have excellent teaching evaluations.
  • Hold a doctoral degree in architecture, have excellent academic performance, and have specialized publications.
  • Hold a master’s degree or above in an architecture-related field from a domestic or international institution, and possess outstanding professional architectural design experience and works.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Design Practice and International Project Experience: Applicants must have professional design work experience in an architectural firm and experience participating in international projects, such as international competitions, cross-national collaboration projects, or completed overseas projects. Applicants must also be able to provide specific representative works or relevant records of awards, exhibitions, or participation.
  2. English-Medium Instruction (EMI) Ability: Applicants must be capable of teaching fully in English. After appointment, they must cooperate with the department’s development goals and offer at least one fully English-taught architectural design or professional course each semester.

Required Application Materials:

  1. Curriculum vitae, including mailing address, telephone number, email address, detailed educational and professional background, and areas of expertise.
  2. Photocopies of academic credentials. Foreign academic credentials must be authenticated by an overseas embassy, consulate, or representative office of the Republic of China.
  3. Photocopy of faculty certificate, if applicable. Applicants without an existing faculty certificate may omit this item.
  4. English-Medium Instruction teaching proposal, including English syllabi for one architectural design course and one professional course.
  5. Professional practice experience and portfolio:
    Proof of employment from an architectural firm, including at least one year of service in a relevant professional field.
    Personal architectural design portfolio, including detailed descriptions of representative works, the applicant’s individual responsibilities, participation in international projects, and records of awards or international media coverage.
  6. Two letters of recommendation. Recommenders may mail or email the letters directly to the departmental office.
  7. Other materials that may support the review

Important Notes:

The university may not employ any person as a full-time faculty member if any of the following circumstances apply:

  1. The person has been convicted by a final judgment of a sexual assault crime as defined in Article 2, Paragraph 1 of the Sexual Assault Crime Prevention Act.
  2. The person has been found, after investigation by a school Gender Equity Education Committee or a relevant committee established in accordance with the law, to have committed sexual assault.
  3. The person has been found, after investigation by a school Gender Equity Education Committee or a relevant committee established in accordance with the law, to have committed sexual harassment or sexual bullying, and it is necessary to terminate the contract and permanently prohibit the person from serving as an education professional.
  4. The person has been found, after investigation by a school Gender Equity Education Committee or a relevant committee established in accordance with the law, to have committed sexual harassment or sexual bullying, and it is necessary to terminate the contract; the committee has resolved that the person may not serve as an education professional for a period of one to four years, and the person is still within that restricted period.
  5. The competent educational administrative authority has determined that the person falls under the circumstances specified in Article 9, Paragraph 6, Subparagraph 2 of the Supplementary and Continuing Education Act.
  6. The competent educational administrative authority has determined that the person falls under the circumstances specified in Article 9, Paragraph 6, Subparagraph 3 of the Supplementary and Continuing Education Act, and the person is still within the one- to four-year period during which they may not be appointed or employed.
