Position Title: Full-time Faculty Member

Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  1. Hold an Assistant Professor (or above) certificate issued by the Ministry of Education, with excellent teaching evaluations.

  2. Hold a doctoral degree in architecture with outstanding academic performance and published scholarly works.

 

Special Requirements

Applicants should possess expertise in at least one of the following fields, along with practical experience, interdisciplinary capability, and the ability to teach in English:

  • Sustainable Architecture

  • Architectural Disaster Prevention

  • Construction & Real Estate Management

  • Architectural & Urban Design

  • Sustainable Design

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Teaching: Architectural professional and design courses.
  • Service and student guidance.
  • Research and scholarly work.

Required Application Materials

  1. Curriculum Vitae (including both Chinese and English versions)

  2. Three letters of recommendation

    • To be sent directly by the referees to:
      Department Chair Yi-Kai Juan, Department of Architecture, NTUST

  3. Photocopies of master’s and doctoral degree certificates, transcripts, and proof of employment

    • For foreign degrees: include notarized verification from Taiwan’s Economic and Cultural overseas offices

  4. Complete list of publications and copies/reprints of works (including master’s and doctoral theses)

  5. Teaching philosophy, teaching plan, and syllabi of courses you can offer

  6. Proof of at least one year of relevant industry experience

  7. Any additional materials that may support the application

 

Important Notes

Applicants with any of the following conditions may not be employed as full-time faculty members:

  1. A final conviction for sexual offenses as defined in Article 2, Paragraph 1 of the Sexual Assault Crime Prevention Act.

  2. Confirmation by the school’s Gender Equality Education Committee (or equivalent legally formed committee) of having committed sexual assault.

  3. Confirmation of sexual harassment or bullying requiring contract termination and permanent disqualification from educational work.

  4. Confirmation of sexual harassment or bullying requiring contract termination and a prohibition from educational work for 1–4 years, during which employment is not allowed.

  5. Determination by the competent educational authority that the individual meets conditions under Article 9, Paragraph 6, Item 2 of the Supplementary and Continuing Education Act.

  6. Determination by the competent educational authority that the individual meets conditions under Article 9, Paragraph 6, Item 3 of the same Act, and is within the 1–4 year restriction period.
