This exhibition, “USR-Hub: A Place-Making Experiment from Farmland to Stage,” uses multiple courses from the Department of Architecture at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology as platforms for teaching and practice. These courses include Architectural Programming, Theory and Methods of Community Building, Theory and Analysis of Living Environments, and Landscape Design. Through cross-course integration, students are guided into real-world contexts to conduct field research and engage in hands-on design practice.

The exhibition focuses on a stage renovation project for the former rice mill at Rice Republic School, as well as proposals for an outdoor stage set within the rice-field landscape. These projects respond to the diverse possibilities of agricultural production, cultural activities, and public space use in Guanshan Township. By integrating architectural and landscape design approaches, the exhibition presents student works that translate local industries and everyday cultural life into spatial design.

Notably, works by graduate students from the course Theory and Analysis of Living Environments received the Gold Award in the Adaptive Reuse category at the Taiwan Sustainable Care 2025 Sustainable Design Student Competition, demonstrating the tangible outcomes of this project’s integration of teaching, research, and social practice.

The exhibition is held at the Rice Republic School (Guanshan Township Farmers’ Association), Granary Café, No. 24-1, Changlin, Guanshan Township, Taitung County, Taiwan.
